Brownell-Talbot Open House Stresses Preparing Students for the Future

Brownell-Talbot College Preparatory School will hold an Open House on Sunday, November 7, for families seeking the best education available to prepare their children for the future.

“The world is changing so fast that the most in-demand jobs in 2010 didn’t even exist in 2004,” said headmaster Dianne Desler. “That’s why we develop our curriculum for students from preschool to grade 12 to teach our children how to learn, how to think, and how to act responsibly. Our Open House is free to everyone who is eager to explore how this view of education can benefit a child going into this uncertain future.”

Brownell-Talbot’s Open House will be held from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. on its midtown campus at 400 N. Happy Hollow Blvd. Guests will have the opportunity to visit with students, parents, and teachers, and tour the school’s campus. Special information sessions about Malone Scholarship opportunities for gifted and talented 7th, 8th, and 9th graders and the school’s extensive college counseling program are scheduled.

Brownell-Talbot begins college counseling in 8th grade. “This provides a clear advantage,” said Julie Adams, Director of Admissions. “With the direction of College Counselor, Stacey Evert, our students research and explore their potential interests, learn the expectations of college admissions counselors from the most selective schools, and begin working on their resumés and personal essays long before their senior year.”

I am very proud to be employed by such a prestigous school! If my grandaughter lived in Omaha, instead of Seattle, I’d do all that I could to enroll her at BT. These children are remarkable! They know so much more, at a young age, then I ever did!
